At Dixie Memorial Pet Gardens, we understand how devastating the loss of your pet can be. The loss of a favorite animal can be just as painful as the loss of a loved one. Our pets are part of the family, too. Many pet owners go through a painful grieving process that includes feelings of loneliness, guilt, and depression. Psychologists tell us the human response to loss is the same whether the loss is a person or a beloved companion animal.
Many pet owners may be looking for something to turn to after the death of their companion. There’s often nothing to be found for those who have just lost a pet. The proper support for grieving pet owners often isn’t there. It’s quite different from funerals and memorial ceremonies for humans. Fortunately, Dixie Memorial Pet Gardens provides support for pet owners during their mourning period. We offer a Pet Loss Support Group to assist pet owners who are grieving. Owner Barbara Wells started the Pet Loss Support Group way back in 1990 and has continued to hold regular meetings ever since.
Pet Loss Support Group meetings are held the first Monday of each month from 6:45 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at:
